General booking conditions and accommodation
Subject of contract
These terms and conditions form part of any contract between Café and Bistro Montmartre (hereinafter “the Montmartre”) and the Customer (hereinafter “the Customer”), concluded or not through the website. Our confirmation of your reservation, which will be sent to you by e-mail or per regular mail, serves as the basis thereof.
Availability of rooms
Accommodation is provided subject to availability of rooms and priority is given to Customers whose payment is made at the time of booking.
Booking conditions
With each reservation, the Customer ensures that all information provided is accurate and truthful. If incorrect information is provided, we will cancel the reservation even if you have received an automatic confirmation.
Payment method
The full payment for the number of nights booked must be made with a valid credit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express) through the corresponding online booking form.
Payment can be made in cash or by bank transfer. The reservation is definitely confirmed once the full payment in cash has been made. The payment in cash or by bank transfer must be made within 3 business days before your arrival.
Prices
The prices for the rooms and other hotel services are stated exclusively in Swiss Francs (CHF) and include statutory value-added tax, as stipulated under Swiss law.
City Tax
The city tax of CHF 3.50 per person and per night is charged in addition to the total amount.
Check-in / Check-out
At check-in, the Customer must present a valid identity card or a passport and the credit card wich the booking was made. The rooms are available between 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm at the latest. The rooms must be vacated by 11.00 am on the day of departure. Should you check out bevor 9.00 am, we kindly ask you to leave the key of your room in the letter box near the green main entrance door.
Waiver and cancellation
The Customer may cancel the reservation until up to 10 days prior to the booking date. The cancellation muss be made in writing (by e-mail or by regular mail). The whole amount minus the all bank fees and minus the administrative fee of CHF 50.- will be returned. After this period, the Customer will be charged 50 % of the booking amount within a 9 to 3-day-period prior to arrival, 75 % within a 2-day period prior to arrival and 100 % within a 1-day period prior to arrival.
For default of appearance (no show), late or earlier arrival than scheduled, the total amount of the reservation will be charged as a matter of principle. However, if we can let the room(s), we will normally abstain from billing.
Due to the health situation in relation to Covid-19, the Client may cancel the booking up to the date of arrival, in case of border closures, entry bans to Switzerland or exit bans from the Client’s home territory. The whole booking amount minus the all bank fees and minus the administrative fee of CHF 50.- will be refunded, or, if the Client so wishes, the whole amount will be retained until the Client’s next visit.
Customer Responsibility
The hotel room is to be used and treated by all guests with utmost care. The Customer is responsible for any damage caused by his own act, omission or negligence. If any damage is noticed after the departure of the Client, the Montmartre reserves the right to charge the cost of the damage to the Customer’s credit card. This also applies for the loss of a room key (CHF 250.-).
Privates or professional visits must be made in the Bistro and are prohibited in the guest rooms. The Customer cannot receive in his/her room any third party unknown to the Montmartre, except if authorized by the latter. Montmartre disclaims any liability for theft.
Lost property
Lost property items will only be forwarded on request of the Customer. The Montmartre cannot be held accountable for the loss of personal belongings or valuables. This applies both to the duration of your stay at the Montmartre and in case of return deliveries. Forwarding expenses and risks incurred are to be borne by the Customer.
Applicable law and court of jurisdiction
The law applicable to these terms and conditions is Swiss law. Any dispute between the Customer and Montmartre under these terms and conditions shall be exclusively subject to Swiss courts. The place of jurisdiction is in Zurich (Switzerland).
